Charley Loudenbeck

Mr. and Mrs. Charley Loudenbeck

Mr. and Mrs. Charley Loudenbeck were early settlers in what was to become Emmet Township, coming to the area to homestead about 1904.

Prior to coming to North Dakota, they had lived in Union, Illinois, and in Iowa, where they farmed. They came to take up a homestead, along with their grown son, A.J. Loudenbeck.

After their arrival, a son, Emmet, was born to them. As the first child born in the newly formed township, Emmet Township was named for their son.
