Elmer Spurgeon

Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Spurgeon

Elmer Spurgeon homesteaded in Gate Township, in McLean County, North Dakota. His farm was the one that, in 1967, was owned by Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Pederson.

Mr. and Mrs. Spurgeon were the parents of four children, two girls and two boys: Ruby, Olivia, Newton, and Vance. Ruby married Walter Zahnow, and also lived in Gate Township until she passed away at the age of thirty in 1944.

Mrs. Spurgeon served as Clerk of Court for two years. Both Mr. and Mrs. Spurgeon passed away at some point prior to 1967, when the Golden Jubilee book was published.
