Syver Romsaas

Mr. and Mrs. Syver Romsaas

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Austin Romsaas, Syver came to Romsaas Township, in McLean County, with his parents (Mr. and Mrs. Austin Romsaas) in 1904. He was married to Olga Gustafson in 1919, and they took over their parent’s homestead, remaining there until Syver passed away in 1960.

Syver Romsaas was a member of the local school board for many years. He was also an excellent cattleman, and a practical veterinarian who assisted neighbors often in livestock emergencies.

In 1967, when the Golden Jubilee book was published, Olga still owned the farm but it was operated by the Mehlhoff family from Garrison.
