Jorgen Jacobson

Mr. and Mrs. Jorgen Jacobson

Mr. and Mrs. Jorgen Jacobon came to America from Norway, settling at Fort Ransom, North Dakota in 1899. They moved to the Roseglen area in 1902, where they were close neighbors and friends of the John Hill family, both early settlers in the area. They had one son, Eidis, who later married Olga Troite of Ryder.

The Jacobsons moved to Ryder in 1929. He passed away on April 30, 1930, at the age of sixty-eight. Mrs. Jacobson continued to live in Ryder until her death in 1944.

Mr. and Mrs. Jacobson were charter members of Immanuel Lutheran Church, and Mrs. Jacobson served as president and held other offices with the Ladies Aid. She often led the hymn singing if the organist, Mrs. Ingvold Johnson, was absent.
